Embrace the struggle
When has self-sufficiency become a badge of honor? Being able to rely only on yourself and your strength. America has become so independent that it has become a negative to ask someone for help. If you are struggle, you are expected to not impose upon someone else for fear of bringing them down or taking too much of their time. We haven't been taught how to struggle in a healthy way. If we can't struggle well, can we heal well? And what does healing look like? Jesus seems to start the sermon on the mount by honoring people who are struggling. "Rejoice and be glad," he says. Find joy in the struggle. Don't ignore the struggle, embrace it.
